Easy Aromatherapy Recipes

Are you looking for easy aromatherapy recipes? While the art of aromatherapy can be very advanced, all aromatherapy doesn't have to be difficult. With a few basic essential oils, even a beginner can enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy.

aromatherapy Essential Oils - To get started, you'll need the "Essence" of aromatherapy - Essential Oils. Although there are many essential oils available these days, you are looking for Easy Aromatherapy Recipes, so let's start with a few of the most common oils.

• - Lavender Oil: (My favorite, surprised?) Lavender oil is probably the most versatile of all the essential oils. It has many wonderful healing properties and has a very pleasant scent. Besides that, it's relatively inexpensive.

• - Tea Tree Oil: This oil also has an amazing variety of uses and is common enough that it is not very expensive either. It doesn't smell as good as lavender, but not many things do.

• - Peppermint Oil: You may have thought that peppermint was only used for flavoring and scent, but this essential oil is also one of the top ingredients in easy aromatherapy recipes.

• - Chamomile Oil: This oil has many valuable medicinal properties and has the added benefit of being particularly safe for children.

• - Eucalyptus Oil: Commonly used with coughs and colds, this essential oil has many other applications that make it one of the top oils to use.

Of course there are many other essential oils that can be used such as Geranium, Lemon, Orange, Rosemary or Thyme. You might want to consider purchasing an essential oil kit with a variety of oils if you are just getting started in aromatherapy.
Base Oils - Many easy aromatherapy recipes call for dilution in a base oil. This is because the pure essential oils are often too concentrated to be applied directly to the skin. Base oils are vegetable, nut or seed oils that often have their own therapeutic benefits. Here are some common base oils:

• - Corn Oil: Yes, that common cooking oil can be used for aromatherapy

• - Olive Oil: Another common oil that works well as a base oil

• - Safflower Oil: Easy to find for aromatherapy

• - Wheatgerm Oil: Very beneficial for the skin
