Lavender Bath Products

Lavender Bath Products are the ideal way to experience the soothing and calming effects of this wonderful plant's essential oil. From Lavender Soap to Bath Salts, virtually all of the products described here are hand made with the highest qualityingredients. There is a huge variety available from cottage manufacturers, usually associated with lavenderfarms. While these lavender bath products may cost a little more than those you will find in your local market, you will usually find that they far surpass their mass produced competition in quality and in available choices.

Bar Soap - By far the most common of Lavender Bath Products on the market, bar soap with lavender oil is available with an incredible variety of additional ingredients that make bath time a truly enjoyable experience. Most of these bar soaps are made from a vegetable oil base such as olive oil and they may include essential oils for moisturizing, cleansing, or scent. Many of these soaps have rich moisturizers added such as goats milk, or shea butter.

Personal Testimony - Two of my nieces use lavender goats milk soap on their babies and small children to keep their skin from breaking out in dry patches of eczema. It is the only product that they have tried that works, including some mass produced name brand lavender scented baby products. These "baby" products are too harsh for their children's sensitive skin.

Liquid Soap - Various types of liquid soaps are also popular lavender bath products. Used as a hand soap or a shower gel, these products usually come with a pump dispenser bottle. Many manufacturers will add ingredients such as aloe vera, jojoba, or various essential oils. Of course they all have lavender essential oil that provides such a wonderful scent. Every hand washing or shower can become your own mini aromatherapy experience!

Bath Salts - Adding lavender to a bath is a great way to enjoy a relaxing soak. Lavender bath salts provide many benefits beyond the relaxing aroma. Bath salts have been used for thousands of years for treating skin conditions. The salts will also tend to soften the water and prevent your skin from absorbing excessive amounts of water that leaves your skin with the "prune" wrinkled look.

Different salts are available and each provides a slightly different experience. Sea salt, Dead Sea salt, and even salts from the Himilayas are available. Besides lavender, sometimes other ingredients are added such as chamomile or glycerin that add a different "spin" to the experience.

Bath Tea Bags - A downside to using bath salts is the after bath clean-up. Not all of the salts or other additives such as lavender buds will disolve in the bath water. One way to improve this unpleasant chore is to keep the bath salts contained in a bath "Tea bag". This is simply a disposable bag or sachet that allows the bath water to soak through, disolve the salts and release the lavender essential oil from the buds. Then at the end of the bath, simply throw away the bag.

Other Lavender Bath Tea Bags may not contain salts but may have other aromatic and moisturizing components. Youcan find Bath Tea Bags or "Tub Tea" that will hold rose petals, chamomile or spearmint along with the lavender. Some of these products may also contain oatmeal, or dry milk for a moisturizing milk bath.

Bath Effervescents - Sometimes bath salts or other bath ingredients mentioned above are comined with aneffervescent substance such as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to add a little "fizz" to your bath. It's a funway to quickly release the pleasant aroma.

Shampoo and Conditioner - Just as with the other lavender bath products that have been mentioned, hair shampoos and conditioners are often hand made on a small scale and contain much higher quality ingredients than their mass produced counterparts. Besides lavender essential oil, you can also find other essential oils such asalmond, chamomile, and jojoba. Proteins, amino acids, and vitamins are often added to a mixture that is pH balanced to treat your hair to salon luxury every day!

Bubble Bath - Of course no discussion of lavender bath products would be complete without talking aboutlavender bubble bath. A relaxing and fun way for children and adults alike to get clean!

As you can see from the huge selection of lavender bath products that are available, lavender is a perfect companion for all of the different ways that a person can keep clean. Try one, or try several! But be advised up front, getting used to the luxury of these products can become addicting!
